Small Businesses: 5 Tips to Build a Business Brand

All small business startups have the similar goals of being around forever. You've done the hardest part which is opening and now it's time to build your foundation. Your foundations will consist of your customers perspective, logo and what we called today "The Brand." You can avoid destroying your image or reputation by stopping and preparing before attempting to create everything on your own.
If you are just starting a business or at a point of re-branding yourself this is where you take the faith and step on DO SOMETHING!
Recently I took a client who owns a restaurant and has delicious pulled chicken wrap. OMGoodness!!! Yummy! We did a total makeover of everything about his business from using gmail to a branded email. From a template designed website to a more branded site that fits the restaurant. With the changes he has been able to implement a lunch delivery program, a culinary school and brunch on Sundays. Sometimes it just takes us to admit that we can't do it all on our own and that we need help.
Branding your busines can be a time consuming yet tedious process. This is the part that marketing companies don't tell you... how to fix the bad decisions of branding.
5 Quick ways to Renew Your Brand.
1. Establish overall end results - Determine the ultimate image and message that you want to give your clients. Be sure to develop a budget to ensure that you don't exceed unnecessary cost. Schedule a meeting with a graphic designer with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Individuals with experience have a tendency to hear your message and mission. Experience designers can take that message and transfer your voice into your logo and/or visual presentation via business cards, website, and other business supplies
2. Break it down into phases
Once you've establish the overall results you want to establish break them down into small phases. (Ex. Phase I Phase 2. Phase 3) The last phase is where everything should come together and begin the process of fine tuning your total package.
3. Allow adequate time
Make sure that when completing the timeline for the "Re-Branding" project that you allow adequate time for submission, adjustments and finalizations. Allow at least 3-5 weeks for

4. Delegate specific duties
Make sure that you have a team of experience members for every facet of the project. you are not able to complete the project without help. Keep a rolodex (such an old term) or contact sheet of go-to guru's for every need that is listed in each phase.

5. Be flexible.
Don't get stuck on one phase because it is not absolutely perfect. Allow your guru's to use their creativity and find a common ground of balance. Ensure that your demands are realistic and is something that can truly represent who you are and what you are looking to promote.
